A Purpose and a Power
Go auickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead. Matthew 28:7
When Samuel Morse, inventor of the telegraph, sent his first message, he telegraphed theses words: "What hath God wrought!"
The greatest news ever sent tells of a far greater event God has wrought: Christ is risen. On that first resurrection day, the angel at the tomb delivered the most important message anyone can ever hear: "He is not here; for He is risen" (Matthew 28:6).
When Adam and Eve first sinned, God's warning became a reality: "You shall surely die" (Genesis 2:17). From that moment on, death reigned over the human race--and with it, fear, dread, and superstition.
But Christ's resurrection changed all that, bringing hope and salvation to all who put their trust in Him. Listen: Death is a defeated foe! Christ has won the victory. That is why Paul could say, "Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57). Is your confidence in Jesus Christ , the risen Lord?
