The Lamb and Lion
John 1:29 - The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
The first time Jesus came to earth He came as a Lamb, to be the final sacrifice for sin. The second time Jesus comes to the earth He will come as the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Revelation 5:5 - And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
David Jeremiah tells us in his book entitled, “Walking With God,” “It might surprise you that in the Bible, references to the Second Coming outnumber references to the first by a ratio of eight to one. Scholars count 1,845 biblical references to the Second Coming, including 318 in the New Testament. Second only to faith, the Second Coming is one of the most dominant subjects in the New Testament. The Lord Himself referred to His return twenty-one times.”
Are you anticipating His second coming as much as you are looking forward to celebrating His birthday on Christmas with family and friends? When Christ returns for the final victory He will reign for all eternity. Each day remind yourself, it could be today. Someone told me once, “Plan your life like Jesus is not coming back in your lifetime, Live your life like He is coming back today.
Allow that daily expectation of Jesus’ return to motivate you to show forth His love by showing a sincere interest in others’ lives. Share the hope that is in you.
