The Anthem of His Name

God also has...given Him the name which is above every name.  Phillipians 2:9

Over two thousand yearrs ago, on a night the world has come to call Christmas, a young Jewish maiden went through the experience countless mothers had before her: she brought forth a child.

But this birth was like no other in the history of the human race. For one thing, this Child had no human father. As the angel had promised, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you" (Luke 1:35). In humble obedience the Virgin Mary had responded, "Let it be to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38).

But this birth also was like no other because of the One who was born. This was no ordinary child. This was the unique Son of God, sent from Heaven to save us from our sins.

Amid the glitter and busyness of the season, don't lose sight of the miracle of that first Christmas. With the wise men, let us fall down and worship Him (Matthew 2:11).
