Fully Known
1 Corinthians 13:12 - For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Sometimes the longing to be loved, respected, and appreciated can be overwhelming. This is because you were created for such a close relationship that you can bear your soul and still feel worthy, accepted, and protected.
Of course, we may try to ignore that need for closeness if we’ve ever been hurt. We can also try to meet it with other things that will never satisfy---such as possessions, prominence, or addictions. But those will never truly replace the communion we yearn for or the comfort and significance it brings to our lives.
Jesus understands this, which is why He shared in your humanity (Hebrews 2:17). He is the only One who can genuinely satisfy your soul or supply what you need. And He did---Christ provided everything necessary so you could interact with Him in a profoundly meaningful way that would fulfill your deepest longings. He desires to encourage, edify, and empower you to the core.
So open your heart to your Savior and discover the sincere contentment, the purposeful existence, and the future hope you were created for. Because certainly, He is the Source for your every need.
Jesus, You’re the only One who really understands me. Draw me into a profoundly close relationship with You. Amen.
