Work for Him

Colossians 3:23-24 - And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

At times, you may have thankless and unpleasant tasks to accomplish. You may feel as if no one really understands the stress you feel or cares about how hard you have to work.

Though this can hurt, understand that what’s really important is not that others see your efforts, but that God does- and you should do every job you’re given as if it’s exclusively for Him. Whatever your hands find to do, work with enthusiasm, diligence, and perseverance to the best of your ability. The Lord takes notes of everything you do and rewards you according to His riches.

But even more important, God is seeing if you’re trustworthy with small tasks in order to see if He can entrust you with greater assignments (Matthew 25:14-30). Scripture promises that those who use their talents to please the Lord will see their gifts multiplied and their efforts rewarded.

So today, it doesn’t matter what your vocation may be or what tasks you are given. If you will do your work unto God and trust Him to reward your faithfulness, you will certainly be blessed.
