When Christ Returns

They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.  Micah 4:3

 

First, the sobering news.

When Jesus returns, a judgment will be held. Every person outside of Christ will give an account not only of the things done and the things said, but also an account of all their thoughts and motives.

Now for the glorious news. When Jesus returns, all evil will be destroyed. There will be worldwide justice, complete safety, and total security. There will be no more war. Jesus Christ will rule as King of kings and Lord of lords, and "his kingdom there shall be no end" (Luke 1:33).

And under His rule there will be universal joy: "Everlasting joy shall be upon their head;: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away" (Isaiah 51:11). Everlasting joy---think of it!

So, with joyful anticipation, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13). Is your hope in Him?
