A Home in Heaven

"If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come agin, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."   John 14:3

During Christ's ministry on Earth, He had no permanent home. He once said, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay His head" (Matthew 8:20).

What a contrast to the Heavenly home He left in order to come to Earth. From all eternity His dwelling place had been filled with unimaginable glory and splendor. And yet, the Bible says, He "made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:7). Out of love for you and me, He left Heaven's glory for Earth's misery.

But the story doesn't end there. Now He has returned to Heaven---and someday we will join Him. Think of it: He wants to share Heaven's glory with us!

One evening, a little girl was taking a walk with her father. Looking up at the stars she exclaimed, "Daddy, if the wrong side of Heaven is so beautiful, what must the right side be like!"
