The Effect of the Word

2 Timothy 3:17 - That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Often, I hear people say that they are scared to do God’s will because they do not feel suited for what the Lord is calling them to do. They are fearful of being proven weak, unworthy, or incapable. This is yet another reason Scripture is so important to knowing and doing God’s will---through it, the Lord makes you fully qualified, complete, and perfectly fit for the tasks ahead.

What the Father does through His Word is to remind you of your identity in Christ---that you are a beloved child of the almighty God (Romans 8:16), formed as His masterpiece (Psalm 139:13-14), created for good works (Ephesians 2:10), empowered by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14; Philippians 4:13), endowed with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3), favored with continuous access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), and called to be a partaker of His heavenly calling (Hebrews 3:1).

Scripture reminds you of who you really are and where your success truly comes from. As Paul writes in;

2 Corinthians 3:5-6 – “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

And because of that, you can certainly fulfill the awesome purposes the Lord has created for you to walk in.
