An All-Important Appointment
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5
Every day, the young president of an East Coast company instructed his secretary not to disturb him because he had an important appointment.
One morning the chairman of the board arrived unannounced and said, "I want to see Mr. Jones."
The secretary answered, "I'm sorry. He cannot be disturbed. He has an important appointment."
The chairman became angry and banged open the door. Upon seeing the president of the corporation on his knees in prayer, the chairman quietly backed out of the office and softly closed the door. He asked the secretary, "is that usual?"
When she answered, "Yes, sir. Every morning," the chairman replied, "No wonder we come to him for advice."
This company president offers each of us a good example. Do you make a regular appointment with God each day--and do you keep it? And when you meet with your Father, is a request for wisdom for your day part of the conversation?
