When God Calls

And he [God] said unto me [Paul], "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

God says the same thing to you that He said to Paul when He calls you into service for His Kingdom.

Perhaps you are asked to teach a Sunday school class. You feel inadequate, unsure that you know enough about the Bible. When an invitation like this comes, pray. Ask God if He wants you to accept this responsibility even if you don't feel qualified or prepared. If God wants you to serve in this position, He will make it clear to you.

Once you accept the invitation to serve, know that as you turn to God and rely on Him, He will empower and guide you. Do all you need to do to be ready to serve in whatever capacity God calls you--and realize that the knowledge of God's Word is an essential tool for any aspect of Kingdom work.

Don't be afraid to take a step of faith in response to God's call to serve. It is a wondrous thing to have God's power be made perfect in our weakness as He uses us for His eternal work.
