The Light of Life

Your faith and hope might be in God.  1 Peter 1:21

We get so used to this world that we lose sight of the next. We get so used to the darkness and chaos of this world's suffering and violence that we lose sight of the brightness of Him who alone could say, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" (John 8:12).

He alone is "the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). He alone is the Hope of the hopeless, the Savior of the lost, the Guide of the wandering. He alone is "the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" (Hebrews 1:3).

Today world leaders struggle with almost insurmountable problems--and they always will. But in the midst of this world's persistent darkness, never lose sight of Jesus. He alone is the hope of the world--and He is your hope as well.
