The Tomorrow Syndrome
Hebrews 13:5 - Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Many people die with their music still in them. Why is this so? Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Why aren’t people content?
A grade school student looks forward to being a sixth grader
A sixth grader looks forward to being an eighth grader
The eighth grader looks forward to being in high school
A freshman in high school looks forward to being a senior
A senior looks forward to being a college student
A freshman in college looks forward to being a senior
A senior looks forward to employment and family
A family man looks forward to when the children get old enough to travel and play
The children grow up and you wish they were young again
You begin to look forward to when you can retire
You retire and wish you were young again
It’s all about tomorrow, I will be happy
What about being happy today?
Don’t live and die miserably because you never have taken time to enjoy TODAY.
Psalm 118:24 - This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Enjoy the trip as much as you enjoy the destination.
Find happiness within your possibilities.
Say with the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:11 - Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
