What Manner of Love
1 John 3:1 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Jeremiah 31:3, I have loved thee with an everlasting love.
“Love”—what is love, by the way? The only explanation I have for why God loves us is that it is not because of anything He sees in us but it is because of who He is. He finds the explanation in Himself. John wrote “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us …” (1Jn_4:10). Now that is love.
Romans 8:35-39 - Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8, But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
He died for you and me. That is where God revealed His love. And God doesn't save us by love. He now saves us by grace because the guilt of sin has been removed by the death of Christ, and He can hold out His arms and save you today
